FCN meeting in Tallinn
FOREST EUROPE Liaison Unit Madrid presented its communication plan to support the Madrid Extraordinary Ministerial Conference at the Forests Communicators Network meeting that took place on 21-23 May in Tallinn, Estonia.
At this conference scheduled for the first week of November, the Ministers will consider the results of the two-year long process of forests negotiations which could mean a historical landmark in forestry policy in the region and worldwide.
Representatives from a dozen of countries, organizations and universities gather during three days under the motto “Cutting edge in forestry communication”. Presentations from the attendees offered a wide image of the multiple communications initiatives currently in place in the forestry world.
The UNECE/FAO Forest Communicators' Network (FCN) was established by the UNECE Timber Committee and the FAO European Forestry Commission (EFC) with the overall objective to improve the ability of the forest and forest products sector to communicate effectively, within and outside the sector.
