New book published on adaptation to climate change in European forests
The project ‘Models for AdaptaTIVE Forest Management (MOTIVE)’ was integrated in the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union, involving 20 partners from 14 European countries. It was coordinated by the Forest Research Institute of Baden-Württemberg (FVA, Freiburg).
The MOTIVE project aimed to evaluate the consequences of climate change on European forests, as well as potential adaptive management strategies to cope with this situation.
Now available, the book presents the state of the art in science-based information on adaptation of European forests to climate change, and collects several articles and different regional case studies covering a wide range of forest types and management regimes.
